The administration of Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL) and Alstom continue their collaboration in developing public transportation in the Swedish capital, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

build trains for the metro

Under the new agreement, Alstom will manufacture an additional 20 C30 metro trains for Stockholm.

This will increase the number of four-car Movia trains on the metro lines to 116.

The construction of the third bridge on the railway line Divača – Koper in Slovenia has been completed

The contract signed in 2013, which initially included an order for 96 trains with an option for 80 more units, continues to demonstrate the successful partnership between Alstom and SL.

This initiative is part of the fleet modernization program aimed at increasing the metro’s passenger capacity to 1 million daily commuters.

The C30 trains promise a high level of comfort for passengers, including those with limited mobility.

Improved boarding and alighting conditions will reduce station dwell times, especially during peak periods.

Another important aspect is the trains’ compliance with modern environmental standards.

They feature efficient energy consumption and use environmentally friendly materials, such as locally produced wool fabric for seat upholstery.

This not only contributes to environmental preservation but also underscores a commitment to sustainable development.

According to the agreement, the C30 trains will also operate on the Blue and Green metro lines, further enhancing their functionality and efficiency within Stockholm’s public transportation system.
