Alstom’s new metro models boast a seamless “boa” design for unrestricted movement between cars. They also include accessible spaces for passengers with reduced mobility and multimedia features for an improved travel experience.
Modernisation Plan Supported by Alstom’s Technology
These trains will replace Lille’s ageing VAL-208 fleet and are set to deploy from 2028. Built in France, the trains will transform Line 1 into a fully upgraded fleet, offering increased passenger comfort and sustainability.
Equipped with high-performance traction equipment, these energy-efficient trains align with Lille’s environmental objectives. During peak hours, the Urbalis Fluence system will enable service intervals of just 66 seconds, improving frequency and reducing congestion.
Alstom continues to shape urban mobility with innovative and sustainable solutions. With the railway-news.comdeployment of these modern metro trains, Lille is poised to set a benchmark for efficiency and passenger satisfaction in European transit systems.
