The project includes two manufacturing facilities. The first will span 54,600 square meters and will produce electrical railway systems and components. These include signalling equipment, control panels, and advanced wiring systems.

The second facility will manufacture various rolling stock models. Alstom will produce light rail vehicles, monorails, and high-speed trains adapted to Egypt’s growing urban transport needs.

Alstom Supports Local Industry and Technology Transfer

By building locally, Alstom plans to boost Egypt’s position as a regional rail manufacturing hub. This project is expected to create new jobs, promote industrial innovation, and enhance local technical expertise.

The partnership strengthens Alstom’s long-term commitment to the region. It also supports Egypt’s efforts to expand modern and sustainable public transportation infrastructure.

With this move, the French company increases its presence in the Middle East and Africa. It also contributes directly to the country’s industrial growth and mobility strategy.
