Alstom Reports Strong Q1 Growth with Major European Orders

Alstom reported strong first-quarter results, securing €4.1 billion in new orders and achieving €4.5 billion in sales from April to June 2025, reinforcing its position in global rail markets. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The order backlog reached €92.3 billion, reflecting high demand for sustainable mobility. Core business revenue rose 7.2%, while overall sales increased 2.8% compared to last year.

Alstom Secures Major European Contracts
Service deals, signaling systems, and turnkey projects represented 42% of total orders. Europe accounted for 85% of bookings, led by a €1.7 billion SNCF contract for 96 RER NG trains.

In Bulgaria, Alstom, through the BULEMU consortium, will deliver 35 Coradia Stream regional trains with 15-year maintenance. These contracts strengthen Alstom’s European footprint significantly.
Rolling stock sales totaled €2.42 billion, growing 3% with strong performance in Germany and ongoing projects in France, the U.S., and Italy. Service contracts worth €1.07 billion came from Europe, North America, and South Africa.
Alstom Expands Global Presence with Key Deliveries
Signaling revenue dropped 5% to €603 million after divesting its North American unit, but remaining operations grew 9% through projects in France, Italy, and Germany. Turnkey systems delivered €425 million, up 25%, driven by Brazil, Mexico, and the Philippines.
Alstom rolled out the first metro trains for Grand Paris Express Line 18 and introduced Omneo Premium trains on Marseille–Toulon–Nice routes. In the UK, Aventra trains began service with London Northwestern Railway.
Additionally, metro service launched in Indore, India, and the first Innovia APM R automated train was delivered to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in the U.S., expanding Alstom’s global reach.
Looking ahead, Alstom targets 3–5% core sales growth and an adjusted EBIT margin near 7% for the 2025/26 fiscal year, focusing on sustainable transport solutions worldwide.
