17.02.2025
The company Alstom has introduced the first MF19 train, designed for operation in the Paris Metro. The new model has passed all tests and is now undergoing trial runs before its official launch. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Previously, this train successfully completed testing at a special facility in Crespin. Now, it has been sent to Line 10, where it is scheduled to enter service in the fall of this year.

Contract with Alstom and Train Features
The agreement signed in 2019 between Alstom and the Île-de-France transport authority (IdFM) includes the delivery of 147 train sets. They will be available in four- or five-car configurations and may be equipped with a driver’s cabin.
Some trains will feature the GoA4 autonomous operation system, allowing fully automated control. The version with 146 seats will operate on Lines 3, 10, and 12, while the version with 122 seats will run on Lines 7, 8, and 13. The total passenger capacity will be 586 or 592 people, respectively.
Energy Efficiency and Modern Technologies
The manufacturer claims that the new trains will reduce energy consumption by 25% compared to current models. This improvement is made possible by the use of regenerative braking and LED lighting.
MF77 trains, in operation since 1978, have become outdated and need replacement. The new models will enhance passenger comfort while also improving the region’s environmental sustainability.
