Alstom Metro Train Offers Modern Comfort and Sustainability

Each carriage includes space for passengers with reduced mobility and real-time video surveillance linked to the control center. Interconnected layouts allow free movement, while onboard LED lighting and digital displays improve travel information.

Built with 96% recyclable materials, the train uses energy-efficient engines to reduce power consumption and environmental impact. The exterior sports Turin’s signature blue and yellow against a white backdrop, combining function and identity.

Alstom Contract Supports Future Turin Line 1 Expansion

The $169 million contract covers four trains, the CBTC signalling system, and automation upgrades for the current fleet. To support future demand, the city requested $174 million more for 12 additional trains and $67 million for related works.

City officials see the new fleet as a vital step forward. Infra. To CEO Bernardino Chiaia highlighted the project’s goal to improve mobility and transit quality. Mobility Councillor Chiara Foglietta emphasized the city’s long-term vision for sustainable, connected transport.

This delivery represents a strategic move toward a smarter, greener metro system. Alstom continues to play a central role in transforming Turin’s urban mobility through innovation and eco-conscious engineering.
