70% of Kazakhstan’s grain railway exports to China are transported in containers

Over the first ten months of 2023, more than 1 million tons of grain were transported from Kazakhstan to China via the Dostyk railway station. This is nearly three times more than the previous year, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Additionally, 396 thousand tons of Kazakhstani grain were shipped to China through the Altynkol railway station. This marks an 11-fold increase compared to the previous year.
Alstom plans to implement a project amounting to $72.2 million
It’s worth noting that 70% of Kazakhstan’s grain exports to China are containerized.
During the same period, over 320 thousand tons of grain milling products were transported by rail to China. This represents a 142 thousand ton increase, almost 2.3 times more than the previous year.
