EBRD loan for a customs and logistics centre near Yerevan

As reported by ARKA news agency, the EBRD loan for a customs and logistics centre in Armenia was approved by the government on 11 December 2025.

The agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provides for €39 million and was signed on 19 September 2025. On the same day, the allocation of an EU grant of €6 million was confirmed.
This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
The funding is planned to be used for a customs and logistics centre near Yerevan and for the construction of administrative buildings in the capital. The EBRD statement outlines the financing parameters and the purpose of the project. In Yerevan, a facility with modern infrastructure and IT equipment is expected to be built, replacing several separate customs posts.

The new centre is planned to operate under a “one-stop shop” model. It is expected to improve service quality, reduce cargo customs clearance time and strengthen the transport and logistics potential of Armenia’s capital region. The EU’s participation in the project is also reflected on the European Commission page.
