Two-seat compartment for high-speed trains from Deutsche Bahn
18.04.2024
The national German carrier, Deutsche Bahn, showcased an innovative model of a two-seat compartment for high-speed trains at the ‘Experience DB Mobility’ exhibition in Berlin, as reported by the company “NPO A.T.O.R.,” a leader in comprehensive supply for passenger carriages, electric trains, and socially oriented transport.

This model, measuring 2 meters wide and 70 cm deep, offers a comfortable space with two seats and folding tables between them. Matte glass doors separate it from the rest of the carriage.
In Nantes (France), the first Citadis X05 trams from Alstom have started operating
Designed for focus group feedback, the model garnered significant interest from visitors and press representatives.
According to Deutsche Bahn representatives, creating this model took over a year.
The experiment aims to gather feedback on the interior functionality and potential uses in future ICE high-speed trains.
While a final decision on implementing this concept hasn’t been made, the carrier has announced that one of the ideas from the model will be integrated into new trains this summer.
Specifically, a display above each seat will inform passengers not only about seat reservations but also about upcoming destinations.

This innovative solution will enable passengers to be better informed and comfortably spend their time during journeys, undoubtedly enhancing the quality of service and comfort level on Deutsche Bahn’s high-speed trains.
