Welded 500-meter rail strings for Jakarta-Bandung HSR
19.01.2023
Welding of 1,168 500-meter-long rail strings has been completed in Bandung, which are laying the path for Indonesia’s first high-speed Jakarta-Bandung line, 142 km long. The strings are welded from 50-meter rails delivered from China. Railway Supply magazine writes about this with reference to zdmira.
The Bandung rail welding station is the first outside of China to produce high-speed rail strings using Chinese technology, equipment and standards that take into account the high temperature and humidity in Indonesia.
Little sign of consensus ahead of British strike meeting
The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed line, designed for a speed of 350 km/h, was originally planned to open in 2021, but later the dates for putting the line into operation were revised several times. At the end of the summer of 2022, trains built by CRRC for this line were presented, after which they began to be sent to Indonesia.
