However, Current Reservation counters at New Delhi (Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate sides), Delhi Main, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar, and Delhi Sarai Rohilla will continue normal operations and maintain usual working hours. These counters will handle same-day travel bookings and reservation changes.

The circular specifies that service availability will depend on location and that operations will resume as usual after October 20. Passengers are advised to plan their ticketing in advance and confirm station-specific timings before travel.

Parcel Restrictions and Operational Measures During Diwali 2025

Northern Railway also announced temporary restrictions on parcel traffic across the Delhi area. From October 20 to October 26, all parcel transactions, including leased SLRs, AGCs, and VPs, are suspended at New Delhi, Delhi, and Anand Vihar Terminal stations.

Parcel godowns and platforms must remain free from packages, ensuring better passenger movement during the festive rush. The restriction applies to both inward and outward parcel traffic, including passing trains from other divisions or zones that stop in Delhi for loading or unloading.

Personal luggage will continue to be allowed in passenger coaches. The booking of registered newspapers and magazines will only be permitted after all commercial formalities are met. Northern Railway confirmed that this measure is intended to improve operational safety and efficiency during the Diwali period.
