Alstom has unveiled the design of Spirit trams for Quebec, according to the railway magazine Railway Supply, citing Rollingstock.

Design of Spirit Trams by Alstom

The manufacturer has released a render of the interior and three exterior design options for the future fleet of Citadis trams.

City residents will have the opportunity to vote for one of the design concepts: Boreal, Harfang, or Citadelle. Each four-section tram will accommodate 272 passengers, including 88 seated places.

The interior will feature four spaces for wheelchairs, strollers, scooters, and bicycles. The contract worth €894 million was signed in April and includes the supply of 34 Citadis Spirit trams.

The order also includes an option for 5 additional trams and their 30-year maintenance service.

Alstom plans to commence tram assembly in the second half of 2025 at the Bombardier plant in La Pocatière, Canada. The first vehicles will be delivered to Quebec in 2027.
