Damaged railway infrastructure is not an obstacle to the supply of weapons – US Department of Defense
11.05.2022
During a series of missile strikes on Ukrainian territory, Russian troops tried to hit critical infrastructure, but the United States is still able to transfer military assistance.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby stressed that Russian troops were “trying to hit what we believe are critical infrastructure in the west” of Ukraine, including power sources and transport hubs, reports railway magazine Railway Supply.
The speaker emphasized that despite these strikes, the US can still “send” military assistance to the region, including “weapon systems.”
The US knows that weapons and other resources are still flowing into Ukraine “because we talk to Ukrainians every day,” John Kirby added.
“Supplies, weapons and materials continue to arrive daily, including today. We see no signs that this flow is being impeded,” he said.
In turn, State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the United States has “inexhaustible” opportunities to supply weapons to Ukraine.
Recall that recently the enemy has stepped up shelling of the railway infrastructure. On the evening of May 3, Russian troops hit six railway stations in the center and west of Ukraine. And on May 4, the “rashists” launched a missile attack on the railway infrastructure in Dnipro and Kirovograd region.
