The train began its journey at Fort Cavazos in Texas and transferred to CSX at Birmingham, Alabama. From there, it traveled 981 miles through six states before arriving in Jessup, Maryland.

Nine CSX crews operated the train across the 55-hour trip. The 4,611-ton load included tanks, armored carriers, and tactical vehicles used in the ceremonial procession.

Tribute Train for U.S. Army’s 250th Anniversary

CSX led the train with ES44AH No. 1776, named Spirit of Our Armed Forces. It was followed by SD70MAC No. 4720, reinforcing CSX’s tribute to all five military branches.

The parade commemorated the founding of the Continental Army, which the Second Continental Congress established on June 14, 1775. The event marked a 250-year milestone in American military history.
