CRRC, a rolling stock manufacturer based in China, signed a deal for supplying 11 trains for Guadalajara’s light metro, which is part of a larger scheme for modernizing Guadalajara’s public transport system.

This is worth $36.3 million and will cover the manufacture of two-car train sets for operating on Lines 1 and 2, which are both under extensive reconstruction work. The initiative will enhance efficiency in service delivery and passenger capacity.

Each train is capable of holding 346 commuters, with 46 seats, thus enhancing commuters’ comfort. The design incorporates a speed capacity of up to 80 km/hr with a minimum life span of 30 years, which is required for a modern light metro railway.
