The four-car train measures 76 meters in length and accommodates up to 607 passengers. It offers 126 fixed seats, 16 foldable seats, and 4 wheelchair-accessible spaces. For efficient boarding and alighting, each side of the train features 12 double-leaf doors.

New RTS Line to Link Singapore and Malaysia in Just 5 Minutes

CRRC plans to deliver all eight ordered trains by the end of 2025, in accordance with the 2021 contract. The trains will operate on the Johor Bahru – Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS), a 4 km cross-border line with just two stations — one in each country.

The driverless train Singapore – Malaysia will run at intervals of 3.6 minutes and reach speeds of up to 80 km/h. The journey between stations will take only five minutes, significantly easing road traffic congestion and border crossing delays.

Innovation in Cross-Border Urban Mobility

The driverless train Singapore – Malaysia marks a new era of technological cooperation between the two nations.

The RTS line is expected to play a key role in the region’s shift toward sustainable transport. CRRC’s deployment of autonomous systems highlights its commitment to modern urban mobility solutions.
