CRRC Introduces “Yiqun”: A New Smart High-Speed Train for Future Cities
01.07.2024
In June 2024, at the Beijing-Nanjing International Metro Transit Exhibition and Forum (MetroTrans) held in Nanjing, CRRC Sifang Co., Ltd. unveiled its new urban smart high-speed train named “Yiqun”, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

This innovative vehicle represents a significant breakthrough in urban rail transportation.

The “Yiqun” train consists of three structurally independent modules and can accommodate up to 280 passengers.
The maximum speed is 70 kilometers per hour, with energy consumption of only 3-4 kilowatt-hours per kilometer, making it one of the most energy-efficient types of urban transport.
The main difference between “Yiqun” and traditional subway trains and trams lies in the use of rubber wheels instead of steel ones, significantly reducing noise and vibration levels.
A notable feature is the innovative train movement control system.
Instead of laying physical tracks, guiding lines or magnetic nails are installed on existing roads.
Thanks to “optical recognition” or “permanent magnetic induction” technology, the train can precisely follow the set trajectory.
This not only reduces infrastructure construction costs but also allows for more efficient use of urban road resources.
“Yiqun” is also equipped with numerous intelligent functions.
Smart lighting, temperature control, and traffic display provide a high level of comfort for passengers.
Moreover, the train’s software is continuously updated, allowing for the addition of new functions and improvements to existing ones.
The implementation of such technologies opens up new prospects for the development of urban transport.
Eco-friendly and intelligent solutions like the “Yiqun” train can significantly improve the quality of life for city dwellers by providing comfortable and efficient urban transportation.
