The council designed the system to be more flexible and affordable than trams, aiming to reduce car usage and offer sustainable public transport.

During full operation, the vehicle will hold up to 60 passengers. It will provide both seated and standing space while reducing the city’s environmental footprint.

Coventry Seeks Feedback to Shape Future Transport

Councillor Jim O’Boyle stated that Coventry’s transport transformation includes the Very Light Rail as a key part of reducing emissions and improving air quality.

Officials invite the public to experience the system and provide feedback through an online booking system. Input will help fine-tune future service planning.

The city believes this model could influence other cities and serve as a blueprint for cleaner and smarter transportation across the UK.
