Contract for the Overhaul of TRAXX BR186 Locomotives

Akiem and Talbot Services have signed a contract for the major overhaul of 23 TRAXX BR186 locomotives in 2024, inclusive of ongoing technical maintenance in the subsequent years, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Founded in 1838 in Aachen, Germany, Talbot Services specializes in technical maintenance, repair, and major overhauls of railway vehicles and/or their subsystems.

Akiem selected Talbot Services for the comprehensive overhaul of its 23 TRAXX BR186 locomotives due to Talbot’s extensive experience and flexibility in technical maintenance operations.
All work will be carried out by Talbot Services teams based in Aachen, with Akiem Maintenance & Services responsible for technical maintenance and the supply chain of parts and refurbished components.
The contract is backed by performance guarantees, covering the reliability level of the major overhaul and the completion timeframe for each locomotive.
This contract underscores Akiem’s commitment to complement its own industrial capabilities and diversify the procurement of European rolling stock technical maintenance services, ensuring railway operators’ customers benefit from an increasingly higher level of reliability and operational readiness.
