Kyrgyzstan’s railway authority has reported progress in the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

It’s noted that negotiations for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway are in an active phase and are ongoing regularly.

On September 21, 2023, another meeting of the trilateral expert group took place, during which various financing and project management models were discussed, with potential for further implementation.

Following this meeting, an agreement was reached to extend consultations to determine the most optimal financing model, with a subsequent in-person meeting in the near future.

Additionally, the first meeting of transport ministers in the China + Central Asia format was held in Beijing.

Ministers also discussed matters related to the implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project.

Trilateral contacts and discussions are planned to continue within the framework of the 3rd International Forum ‘Belt and Road,’ scheduled for October 17-18, 2023, in Beijing.
