Indian Railways has expanded seating to increase comfort for passengers by adding new AC chair car coaches to two major Prayagraj–Lucknow trains. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The Ganga-Gomti Express and Intercity Express now feature two AC chair cars instead of one. This change responds to rising demand from daily commuters and tourists.

Enhanced Comfort on Prayagraj-Lucknow Routes

The Lucknow division proposed the upgrade, and the Railway Board approved it. Kuldeep Tiwari, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, confirmed the addition of one AC coach to each train.

These trains connect Prayagraj Sangam and Lucknow, covering 197 kilometers with 14 stops. This expansion reduces crowding and makes the journey more pleasant for all passengers.

Comfort improvements are especially crucial in hot, humid weather. With this update, travelers benefit from better climate control and lower waitlist pressure.

Comfort Boost Benefits Commuters and Tourists

Train 14215 leaves Prayagraj at 5:40 a.m., reaching Lucknow by 10:00 a.m. The return train, 14216, departs at 5:50 p.m. and arrives at 10:15 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Intercity Express departs Prayagraj at 3:30 p.m. and reaches Lucknow by 7:50 p.m. The return train leaves Lucknow at 7:30 a.m. and reaches Prayagraj by noon.

Tourists and pilgrims visiting Prayagraj will also enjoy the added comfort these coaches offer. The move supports better service across Northern India.
