CILT International Railway Group creates a global community

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) made a bid for it to enhance professional links and enhance global information exchange. The body rolled out CILT Global Rail Group during the CILT International Convention 2025, which took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Over 30 nations were represented during the event, which provided a platform for debates on the future of railways. During their discussions, participants underlined the fact that information exchange of the best practices and performance of joint research work should speed up digital technologies and innovative adoption in railways across the world.

CILT already gathers more than 35,000 professionals across 40 nations who work within transport and logistics. The establishment of GRG grows larger for the institute’s reach and for potential coordination between policymakers, operators, and engineers.

CILT Global Rail Group advocates for innovations and sustainability

The new framework is set to accelerate technologies which boost protection and efficiency of energy for railroad activities. GRG members are set to collaborate on projects of digitalization, carbon reduction, and standardization of transport networks.
