CHSRA Completes First Grade Separation in Tulare County
22.06.2025
CHSRA has completed its first grade separation in Tulare County, marking a major milestone in California’s high-speed rail project and improving local infrastructure. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The Avenue 56 overpass, located just south of Corcoran, spans 219 feet in length and 35 feet in width. It now carries vehicle traffic over the corridor planned for future rail service.

Construction faced setbacks due to the intense storms in March 2023. Heavy rains from atmospheric rivers flooded parts of Tulare and Kings counties, temporarily halting progress.
CHSRA worked closely with local communities to prevent further flooding and quickly established an emergency access road to resume activity. The overpass is now fully operational.
CHSRA Progresses Despite Weather Challenges
CHSRA also completed four additional grade separations: two in Kings County at Fargo Avenue and Whitley Avenue, and two in Fresno County at Belmont Avenue and Central Avenue.
Each structure supports the broader development of high-speed connections across the Central Valley. These efforts show CHSRA’s ability to deliver on key infrastructure goals.
Across the region, CHSRA is managing 171 miles of track under design and construction. Nearly 70 miles of guideway are finished, adding momentum to the project’s long-term vision.
CHSRA Builds Toward Statewide High-Speed Network
So far, 55 structures have been completed, and 29 more remain under construction in Madera, Fresno, Kings, and Tulare counties. Each new milestone brings the rail system closer to reality.
The Avenue 56 project not only improves local traffic safety but also lays the groundwork for future high-speed service. This achievement strengthens the network’s core framework.
CHSRA continues to push ahead, overcoming delays and environmental challenges. And with each completed structure, California’s high-speed future becomes more tangible.
