China launches new rail route to Germany
20.04.2022
A new China-Europe freight train route has been launched from the city of Xi’an (Northwest China), crossing the Caspian and Black Seas.
This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Rail.insider.
The first train on the new route, loaded with sports equipment, clothing and bedding, left Xi’an on April 13. It will pass through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and reach the German city of Mannheim, covering a distance of 11.3 thousand km. Whether the train goes through Georgia, and how it crosses the Black Sea in war conditions, is not reported.
The new route covers countries and regions that few China-Europe trains have previously passed through, and opens up new markets for international trade for both Chinese and international enterprises.
The launch of trains on this new route will improve the efficiency of transportation and allow enterprises to reduce transportation costs, according to the Xi’an-based international logistics company Zhuian.
Recall that European companies are switching to the route from China to the EU, bypassing the Russian Federation.
