By 2023, the network of high-speed lines will reach a total of 50 thousand kilometers and will be equal to the sum of the networks of the five most developed countries in the world: Spain, Japan, France, Germany and Finland. The current length of the network in China is about 40,000 kilometers.
The Yangtze Delta contains about 16.7% of China population, but is the source of about 24% of the country industrial output. In addition, the region provides 36.8% of the country total exports.
