During a trade mission organized by the Czech Rail Industry Association (ACRI) as part of the state visit of Czech President Petr Pavel to Qatar and Israel, Czech manufacturers of railway and urban transport aimed to identify opportunities and needs in the Middle East markets, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

ACRI’s CEO, Maria Vopalenska, highlighted the potential for selling Czech trams, metro trains, signaling, and information systems in the Middle East, where ACRI members have already secured significant contracts.

ACRI, representing the Czech railway industry since 1995, sees “significant potential” in Qatar’s open and hospitable market, offering first-class infrastructure and suitable legislation. Meetings were held with Israeli Railways representatives, and the Israeli Ministry of Transport expressed interest in bilateral cooperation with Czech counterparts.

ACRI members, comprising 50 Czech companies in the railway sector, currently employ over 20,000 people in the Czech Republic, with an annual turnover exceeding 3 billion euros, of which over 54% is from exports.
