The Malashevichi Logistics Park is an infrastructure investment and will be fully financed from public funds, including co-financing from EU funds.

The estimated cost of the investment is PLN 3.2 billion.

Due to the cross-border nature of the project, CARGOTOR is applying for funding from CEF 2, which is 50%. Construction work is scheduled to start in 2023.

The project includes a comprehensive modernization and expansion of the railway infrastructure.

Reconstruction of the track, which will allow receiving trains with a length of 1050 m for the 1520 mm gauge and 750 m for the 1435 mm gauge.

The speed of trains will also increase from 20 to 40 km/h. All this will further increase the importance of the Małaszewicz Logistics Park as one of the most important transshipment points in Europe, as well as help increase the income of the State Treasury of Poland and create added value for the Polish economy.

Preparations for the CARGOTOR project are proceeding according to the accepted schedule. Before submitting the application, the company completed the work related to the preparation of a feasibility study, preparation of project documentation and obtaining administrative permits necessary for this investment.

Supporting the implementation of the project, the government started legislative work on a draft law amending the law on the commercialization and restructuring of the state-owned enterprise Polskie Koleje Państwowe and the law on the Railway Fund.

According to previous information, the changes should allow CARGOTOR to work within the PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA group, which will allow the company to use not only the resources, but also the extensive experience of PKP PLK in the implementation of large infrastructure projects.
