Cando Rail & Terminals is making its entry into the U.S. with its initial acquisition in the city of Houston, enhancing its network in logistics and consolidating its position in North American rail operations.

Cando Rail & Terminals Developing U.S. Network

Cando Rail & Terminals made public its acquisition of the Channelview Terminal from Texas Deepwater Partners as it entered the American marketplace for the first time.

The 900-car facility accommodates storage, staging, and transloading. Located on the north side of the Houston Ship Channel, it has access to BNSF Railway, Canadian Pacific Kansas City, and the UP.

The CEO of the company, Brian Cornick, pointed out that this addition is a long-term development for Cando’s future growth. “It bolsters our ability to supply industrial customers with their first terminal in the United States,” he explained. In that Houston is a prime logistics terminal, this adds Cando’s cross-border capacity for rail services.

Cando Rail & Terminals Bolsters Supply Networks

The Channelview terminal supplies petrochemical producers and aids multiple-customer applications. The Channelview terminal optimizes first- and last-mike connectivity, giving shipppers sooner access to key rail links. And since Cando is already at 50 industrial locations, this addition optimizes network reliability and flexibility.

Texas Deepwater Partners appointed Cando as its future site expansion exclusive rail partner. The companies will finalize the acquisition within the fourth quarter’s close. Cando will have 15 rail terminals and a short line railway with the acquisition’s completion.

The expansion of the company reflects the ability of logistics integration and dedication towards green and efficient solutions for rail. And with entry in the U.S. market, Cando earmarks itself as reliable cross-border partner for the petrochemical and industrial sectors.
