03.07.2023
Spanish national carrier Renfe has exercised an option worth approximately €190 million for the supply of 32 CAF electric trains with battery technology, according to the railway journal Railway Supply.
The initial contract, signed in October of last year, included the delivery of 28 electric trains and an option for an additional 42 units.
The new order comprises the supply of 24 three-car trains and 8 four-car trains. Taking into account this option, the total value of the rolling stock ordered by Renfe from CAF in the past 3 years exceeds €1 billion.
