CAF operates a strong industrial base in the UK, employing around 1,000 people across its Newport factory and 14 service depots nationwide.

Northern Trains is one of the largest passenger rail operators in the UK, serving the Northern England region. The contract reinforces CAF’s presence in the country’s service segment.
The deal demonstrates rising demand for CAF’s technical solutions and boosts the company’s long-term role in the UK rail industry.

The second agreement was signed with Medellín Metro and covers 38 three-car trains supplied since 2009. Of these, 25 will undergo major overhauls, while 13 will receive mid-life refurbishments.
This contract complements existing agreements for 13 new trains signed in late 2024 and the upgrade of all 80 trains with modern TCMS (Train Control and Monitoring Systems).
Currently, over 4,000 CAF professionals manage more than 150 service contracts across 20 countries, reflecting steady global growth and strong customer trust in the company’s expertise.
