Hyundai Rotem to Supply 34 Hydrogen Trams: $201 Million Contract

It will soon be transported to the VUZ testing ring in Velim, Czech Republic, for performance evaluation.

The supply contract, awarded in 2021, includes 20 four-car electric trains and 8 hybrid three-car trainsets.

These trains, which operate both on the catenary system and on biodiesel, were ordered by the leasing company AB Transitio for €250 million. The rolling stock is intended for four regions of Sweden.

The Nordic modification is specifically adapted for operation in harsh Scandinavian climatic conditions, with a temperature range from -40 to +40 °C.

The trains, measuring 76 and 67 meters in length, will be capable of operating in multiple unit configurations, combining into three-unit sets.

The electric trains will offer 190 seats, while the hybrid trains will have 140 seats.

The maximum speed will be 200 km/h when operating on the catenary system and 140 km/h when using biodiesel.
