Brake Valve 383
Brake equipment for railways and metros. Brake valve No. 383.
The conditional Brake valve No. 383 is used to engage and disengage air distributors and has two handle positions: along the pipe – valve open, across the pipe – valve closed.
There is an atmospheric hole “a” in the conical bronze plug of the valve for communication of the air distributor with the atmosphere when the valve is closed.
This hole is made to prevent the self-braking of the turned-off air distributor in case of a disconnecting valve bypass.
Brake valves for railway transport.
Brake valve No. 383, installed on the branch of the main pipe before the air distributor, is used to engage or disengage the brake.
A handle is mounted on the square of the plug, having two positions: along the pipe, corresponding to the engagement of the air distributor, and across the pipe, corresponding to disengagement.
