The newly ratified agreement provides an 18.77% compounded wage increase over its term. Employees will also experience reduced time needed to accrue vacation days, reflecting a win for work-life balance. Enhanced health and welfare benefits, including no increase in employee contributions, mark a pivotal moment in negotiations.

BMWED President Tony Cardwell celebrated the achievement, emphasizing its importance for modern rail industry standards. “This agreement secures bonuses, vacation benefits, and healthcare improvements without added costs to employees,” Cardwell stated.

CSX and BMWED Collaboration Sets Industry Standards

CSX has now finalized agreements with 10 labor unions, encompassing 13 work groups and covering 42% of its workforce. This partnership demonstrates CSX’s commitment to fostering positive labor relations, ensuring employees feel respected and valued.
