BLET 5-year contract ratification: pay, health, and leave terms

The BLET Delaware & Hudson agreement is a tentative three-year deal. It involves the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen and Delaware and Hudson Railway. In addition, Delaware and Hudson Railway is a subsidiary of Norfolk Southern Railway.

Wage increases and ratification ballots

According to BLET, the agreement covers general wage increases. They apply from Aug. 1, 2024, through July 31, 2027. BLET members will issue ratification ballots by May 27. Also, the union’s D&H members belong to Division 87 in Green Island, New York.

Separately, Progressive Railroading notes that CPKC acquired D&H in 1991. At the time, CPKC was known as Canadian Pacific. In 2014, CP sold the 282-mile railroad to Norfolk Southern.
