The two-car train arrived under a 2022 contract and is currently being tested both in the depot and on a single-track section.

Manufacturer Woojin Industrial Systems developed the train in cooperation with KRRI based on the K-AGT platform. The train measures 18.2 meters and accommodates 104 passengers, including 28 seated.

The rubber-tired train features a crash energy absorption system and a tire puncture detection mechanism, enhancing safety.

Additionally, the train includes an intelligent diagnostic system powered by LTE-R digital communication. Windows automatically dim when passing residential zones to reduce light impact.

Driverless Metro Train Will Enter Service in 2026

Commercial operation is scheduled for the second half of 2026. All nine trains will run at six-minute intervals during peak hours.

The average speed will reach 31 km/h, ensuring reliable and comfortable urban mobility for Busan residents.
