27.01.2024
The global provider of technology and engineering services has been appointed by Adif, the infrastructure manager for rail operations in Spain, this is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Ayesa will lead the modernization and reconstruction of conventional lines in the northeastern regional network, including Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida, Girona, Zaragoza, and Huesca.
Adif has assigned Ayesa to oversee project development for two out of the four lots tendered.
The first lot, focusing on network infrastructure, will be executed in collaboration with Fhecor, a Spanish construction company, with a budget of €3.1 million.
The second lot, amounting to €1.5 million, will involve track work to be undertaken independently by Ayesa.
Ayesa is not involved in the other two lots, which include designing power systems and signaling.
Over the next three years, Adif will invest €9.4 million to enhance the efficiency and safety of the railway network by improving individual elements.
This strategic initiative is part of a contract aimed at preserving the traditional segment of the network, with the goal of increasing reliability, reducing maintenance requirements, and improving safety standards.
