The Russian strike targeted a facility crucial for the region’s railway communication.

The contact network was damaged, and several buildings located on the premises were hit. An assistant locomotive driver was injured and immediately hospitalized. His condition is stable, with no life-threatening injuries.

The attack also caused disruptions to the power supply. Several stations, temporarily left without power due to damage to city electrical networks, were switched to backup generators.

Despite the damage, railway traffic has not been halted. All trains, which temporarily suspended movement due to the lack of electricity, are now equipped with backup diesel locomotives and continue to run along their routes.

Some suburban electric trains in several regions are running with delays. However, city express trains, such as City Express in Kyiv and Dnipro, are operating on schedule.

“Passengers who missed their trains due to prolonged air alerts can use the same tickets for travel within the next 24 hours on similar routes,” stated the press service of “Ukrzaliznytsia.”

Representatives of the Ukrainian Railways reminded that despite the Russian attacks, the train schedule is being restored, and passenger services continue as normal.
