The facility is located in the city of Dornești. It is expected that the innovation will improve connectivity to the Port of Constanța.
To facilitate transshipment, the terminal utilizes equipment similar to that used in Romanian river and sea ports.
The terminal’s design allows for continuous operation 24 hours a day. Its maximum capacity is 3 million tons of cargo.
Loading and unloading stations can simultaneously handle eight wagons, ensuring a processing speed of 500 tons per hour.
Grampet Group emphasized that the terminal is of significant importance to Ukraine.
“Romania has played and continues to play a significant role in the operation of ‘solidarity routes’ with European Union countries to facilitate the transportation of grain from Ukraine, which is important for ensuring food security in underdeveloped regions of Africa and Asia, as well as commercial flows globally,” said Grampet Group owner Gruia Stoica.

As reported earlier, a transshipment terminal was built in Romania on the route to the Port of Constanța.
