The company confirmed that all equipment was engineered in-house. The electric train will feature the Aselrail Cesur traction system, which includes a dual-motor unit, battery charger, and liquid cooling system.

Deliveries are scheduled from 2025 to 2028. During this period, TÜRASAŞ plans to produce 14 new trainsets.

Dynamic tests of the first prototype are expected by the end of the year. The front car mock-up has already been unveiled.

Aselsan Participates in First Tram Motor Development

In parallel, Aselsan has partnered with Bozankaya to develop Turkey’s first domestic tram motor and traction system.

This initiative aims to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign suppliers. Previously, Bozankaya used traction technology from Poland’s Medcom.

Now, the company plans to fully transition to local solutions, boosting national technological independence.

Aselsan Strengthens Export Potential of Rail Technology

Bozankaya has already signed contracts with both European and Turkish clients. These agreements include tram and metro car deliveries.

Its collaboration with Aselsan is set to enhance the global competitiveness of Turkish manufacturers in the rail transport sector.

These new contracts highlight how Aselsan’s defense technologies are successfully transitioning into civilian industries.
