“ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” is forced to suspend steel and rolled products production due to the explosion and destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station.

According to the company’s information, the enterprise will limit water consumption and has already halted certain metallurgical processes to preserve production units and reduce water consumption until the situation normalizes, reports the railway journal Railway Supply, citing Rail.insider.

As a result, steel smelting and rolled products production have been suspended, and only the blast furnace and coke-chemical production, as well as the horizontal flexible boiler (HFB), will continue operating.

The company stated that their logistics and raw material supply chain is functioning steadily, and they will ensure the fulfillment of all orders for the convenience of their customers.

The return to normal operating mode will be determined within the next three to four days after analyzing the depth of the water level drop in the Kakhovka reservoir.

Metinvest also reported that the situation at their enterprises is under control but urged employees and residents of Kryvyi Rih to conserve water.

The explosion at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station occurred during the night of June 6.
