In its proposal, the company outlines five key steps that will help unlock the potential of British railways.
The first step is to create a fleet management strategy, which will help avoid low train occupancy rates and attract investment in infrastructure development.
The second proposal involves accelerating the review of train schedules, allowing for faster responses to changes in passenger demand and stimulating economic growth.
The third direction focuses on increasing the number of qualified staff by expanding training programs, which is critical for the stable functioning of the industry.
Arriva also proposes supporting the opening of new routes with open access to infrastructure, such as the Oxford – Milton Keynes – Cambridge corridor, connecting key scientific centers.
The list of initiatives is completed by accelerating the implementation of the Pay-As-You-Go payment system, which will make ticket purchasing more convenient for passengers.
Arriva Group, a leading European passenger transport company, comprises four business units: UK Bus, UK Trains, The Netherlands, and Mainland Europe.
The UK Trains division operates four passenger operators in the UK. Arriva is also present in countries such as the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain, making it one of the most influential transport companies in Europe.
