Amtrak set fares from just $15 each way for adult coach seats. Discounts apply for children, seniors, students, and veterans. The westbound morning train leaves Mobile at 6:30 a.m. CT and reaches New Orleans by 10:30 a.m. CT.
The train terminal is within walking distance of Caesars Superdome, making it ideal for noon football kickoffs. Evening eastbound trains depart New Orleans at 5:31 p.m. CT and arrive in Mobile by 9:14 p.m. CT.
Flexible schedules support Amtrak riders this football season
Fans attending late afternoon or prime-time games may need overnight stays due to return schedule limits. However, the evening train from Mobile departs at 4:30 p.m. CT, arriving in New Orleans at 8:13 p.m. CT.
Morning eastbound service leaves New Orleans at 7:35 a.m. CT and gets to Mobile by 11:18 a.m. CT, offering a flexible option for day travel. These schedules support both sports fans and commuters along the Gulf Coast.
The Amtrak Mardi Gras Service restores an essential route lost after Hurricane Katrina. It strengthens Southern rail infrastructure and promotes sustainable travel as football season energizes regional movement.
