The Chennai-Bengaluru corridor should incorporate Tirupati to enhance connectivity as directed by Naidu. The rail projects of ₹33,630 crore that were being implemented were reviewed by him. These include Nadikudi-Srikalahasti, Guntur-Guntakal section, Gunadala Mustabad bypass
The Chief Minister directed that ₹27 crore should be released immediately for the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti section and that services should start on the Kotipalli-Narsapur route that includes the Kakinada-Kotipalli-Amalapuram section.
Amaravati bullet train supports port and station development
Naidu approved land allocation for new coaching terminals in Amaravati and Gannavaram while expansion continues in Vijayawada and Guntur. He emphasized that rail cooperation is crucial for Andhra Pradesh’s logistics ambitions and announced that an Integrated Logistics Park will be developed jointly with the central government.
He emphasized the need for new port connections such as Mulapeta, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, and Ramayapatnam. The CM also reviewed the proposed Dedicated Freight Corridor from Kharagpur to Chennai and the creation of 1,564 kilometers of new rail infrastructure.
In respect of passenger infrastructure, Naidu asked that Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Amaravati stations should be made iconic hubs. He asked for an innovative design for the Amaravati station and quicker implementation of Vijayawada’s work. In addition, he pointed out that modernization of 73 stations in the state has been initiated through Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
