Metrô BH, a Grupo Comporte company, and Alstom have signed a contract for the delivery of a new signaling system and an Operations Control Center (OCC) in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, this is reported by the railway transport news portal, Railway Supply.
Under this agreement, Alstom will implement an Automatic Train Operation (ATO) system, including new signaling and modern onboard equipment.
Reconstruction of the main railway line Hungary – Austria has begun
The new systems will enable Metrô BH to provide more efficient services for the upcoming Line 2.
ATO ensures a safer, more efficient, and reliable system for train operators. This technology ensures that trains stop at the right points, and doors open and close at specified time intervals.
Additionally, 48 Automatic Train Control (ATC) systems will be installed to equip 24 new trains to be acquired in the future, in addition to the modernization of existing trains operating on Line 1.
To prepare for the ATO system, Alstom will install signaling along the 28.1 km stretch of Line 1, extending from Eldorado to Vilarinho, in addition to future expansions, which will include the Novo Eldorado station and an additional 1.6 km of permanent line extension.
The completion of the new signaling is scheduled for 2026.
