Alstom Ensures Reliable Operations of Line 1 in Panama Metro

Alstom signed a four-year agreement to maintain Panama Metro’s Line 1 infrastructure and systems. The contract covers train maintenance, automation systems, and power supply to ensure reliable service. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Alstom Improves the Reliability of Panama Metro’s Line 1
The agreement includes preventive and corrective maintenance of 26 Metropolis trains and traction systems. This 16-kilometer metro line serves up to 280,000 passengers daily, supporting Panama’s urban mobility needs.

Alstom conducts regular inspections of train bogies, brakes, and pantographs to prevent system failures. Additionally, it oversees the operation of auxiliary substations and ensures infrastructure remains fully operational.
To enhance efficiency, Alstom implemented its innovative HealthHub platform. This system allows the team to identify issues early and resolve them before they disrupt metro services.
Alstom Leads in Metro Automation Technology
The company supports Urbalis CBTC technology, which reduces train intervals to just 90 seconds. This advanced system increases the line’s capacity and ensures smooth operations during peak hours.
Since 2010, Alstom has been a key partner in developing Panama’s urban transit network. It designed, built, and equipped Lines 1 and 2 with cutting-edge systems to improve metro services.
In 2022, Alstom signed a new contract to maintain Line 2 trains, signaling systems, and power infrastructure. These initiatives underscore Alstom’s commitment to providing modern, efficient transport solutions in Panama.
