The presentation of the four-car train took place at the Salzgitter plant, where its validation tests are currently underway.

Simultaneously, the assembly of three more of these trains is being carried out at the plant.
According to information provided by the Lower Saxony Transport Authority (LNVG), the production of all 34 Coradia Max trains is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
However, due to various delays, the delivery schedule has been pushed back by one year. Initially, deliveries were planned to be completed in 2024, but due to issues with the supply of electrical components caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation in Ukraine, as well as increased lead times for body components from China, the timeline had to be revised.
The contract for the supply and 30-year technical maintenance of the 34 trains was concluded in 2021 and amounted to €760 million.
Alstom has committed to delivering modern and comfortable trains that will operate at a maximum speed of 160 km/h and provide 408 seats in each train set.
The introduction of the new Coradia Max trains promises to improve the quality of rail transportation in the region.
The double-decker design significantly increases the train’s capacity, which is an important aspect for meeting the growing demand for passenger transport in Lower Saxony and other regions of Germany.
Increased capacity helps to reduce overcrowding on popular routes and enhances the overall comfort level for passengers.
The new trains will be equipped with modern safety and comfort systems, making travel not only more pleasant but also safer.
Incorporating electric trains into the transport system also aligns with modern trends towards reducing the carbon footprint and increasing transport sustainability.

A video of the train presentation, provided by Norddeutscher Rundfunk, demonstrates its key features and capabilities, highlighting Alstom’s readiness to meet the high standards required for modern rail transport.
In conclusion, despite delays and challenges related to global crises, the Coradia Max project is successfully moving forward.
It is expected that the new trains will significantly improve the region’s transport infrastructure, providing passengers with more comfortable, safer, and environmentally friendly travel options.
