14.09.2023
Alstom has inaugurated a center for rail transport digitalization in the German city of Braunschweig, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.
The primary focus of this center is the development of train control systems (CBTC) and equipment for automating train operations, with a focus on the markets in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Within the new 4,400 square meter facility, there are design offices and testing laboratories, where over 250 specialists will be working.
Alstom has announced that the investments in this project amount to tens of millions of euros.
In the field of rail transport digitalization, Alstom faces stiff competition in Europe from the German company Siemens, which also operates a similar center in Braunschweig with over 3,500 employees.
