The total contract value exceeds 100 million euros, and it is valid until 2030.
The main part of the order includes the upgrade of 195 trains. All modernization work, including the installation of equipment for the use of ETCS Baseline 3.6 signaling, will be carried out under the supervision of Alstom.
The modernization processes will take place at ÖBB’s production facilities in Linz and Vienna.
Alstom notes that the implementation of the ETCS Baseline 3.6 standard system will reduce the intervals between trains, significantly increasing the capacity of the Austrian railways.
This project reflects ÖBB’s commitment to updating and improving railway infrastructure.
Collaboration with Alstom ensures guarantees of high standards of quality and safety.
The installation of new equipment is also aimed at increasing the efficiency and reliability of railway transportation in Austria.
