The project is valued at €1 billion, with Alstom’s share exceeding €700 million, including a €140 million contract for line maintenance.

TECHMON – a remote monitoring and control system for trains and trams

Under the terms of the deal, Alstom will supply 54 Citadis trams for the 41 km line.

In addition to the trams, the company will also provide communication and signaling systems, electrify the line, and construct a depot for rolling stock maintenance.

The system is scheduled to begin operation in 2028, marking a significant step forward in the development of the region’s transportation infrastructure.

The Citadis trams to be used on the NofiT line are manufactured at Alstom’s facilities in La Rochelle and Barcelona.

These trams can reach a maximum speed of up to 70 km/h and are already successfully in use in countries such as Algeria, France, Canada, Poland, and the Netherlands.

Since their production began in 1999, more than 2,000 units of this model have been produced, demonstrating their reliability and demand in the global market.

This contract is the third major project for Alstom in Israel in recent times.

HYDBOX ONE – a mobile trolley engineered for cleaning and filling brake system components of railway transport

In December 2023, Tel Aviv signed a contract with the French group for the supply of 98 low-floor, two-car Citadis X05 trams.

In January 2024, Israel Railways also signed a contract with Alstom for the supply of 96 double-deck passenger cars.

The expansion of Israel’s transportation system with Alstom’s technologies and solutions reflects significant investments in infrastructure development and improved passenger comfort.

The new NofiT project, connecting Haifa and Nazareth, will be an important part of this process, enhancing connectivity between cities and contributing to the region’s economic growth.
