07.10.2021
Managing Director of Alstom in Central and Eastern Europe Antonio Moreno told URM reporters why the cost of one locomotive for Ukraine is higher than for Azerbaijan.

So, the cost of one locomotive under the “Ukrainian contract” is 6.8 million euros. At the same time, Azerbaijan ordered locomotives for six million. According to Moreno, the issue is inflation and various characteristics.
This was reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply.
“I will not operate in technical terms, but these are freight locomotives with different technical characteristics. In addition, the contract was signed in 2016, and we are already with you in 2021. Then the cost of production, steel, transport was different,” said Antonio Moreno.
Also Antonio Moreno told which parts of the locomotives will be produced in Ukraine and with how many contractors have already signed contracts.
